Cape Cod has 23 independent bookstores
Dear Write to Know: I recently moved to the Lower Cape and would like to know where the best bookstores are in my area. Also, how many independent bookstores are there on Cape Cod? Thank you.

Seniors looking for low-interest mortgages
Dear, Write to know: My wife and I are looking to renovate our house and would like to know if there are any low interest loans for seniors. Thank you for your help.
Dear GJ: Mass Housing offers loans for homeowners to refinance your mortgage, apply for a septic system repair loan, or a home improvement loan. The interest rate on all HILP (Home Improvement Loan Program) loans is 5% with loan amounts ranging from $7,500 to $50,000 with loan terms of 15 years. Borrowers must meet income eligibility limits. The home must have been your primary residence for at least a year and potential borrowers must have good credit and stable income. For more information, visit www.masshousing.com or call 1-888-843-6432. You can also contact your local senior center for help. The Mashpee Senior Center can be reached at 508-539-1440.

Crustless quiche is easy and delicious
Dear Write to Know: I would love to find a recipe for a crustless quiche. Can you help ? Thank you.
Dear BC: We found a delicious recipe on www.aprettylifeinthesuburbs.com. This crustless quiche calls for six eggs, one cup milk (or you can use ½ cup milk and ½ cup half and half cream), one cup cheese (shredded cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, or mozzarella), 2 tbsp parmesan (optional), salt and pepper to taste. Optional additions include crumbled cooked ham or bacon, chopped broccoli, chopped tomatoes, sliced onions, chopped spinach or asparagus, or cubed cooked potatoes. Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, whisk together milk, egg, cheese, salt and pepper. Stir in all additional ingredients. Pour egg mixture into 9-inch pie pan and bake uncovered for 45 minutes – or until center is set and not wobbly. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
